This is a 3 part assignment. the third part has an article link attached.
PART 1
Most people we will assist are of cultures and ethnicities different from our own. Our population is diverse. This week’s readings address the importance of establishing a therapeutic relationship with clients that incorporates a client’s diversity and culture. Relational Cultural Theory gives a theoretical framework for doing so.
For this initial response:
Discuss your thoughts on the importance of relationships with persons of diverse cultures other than your own in social work practice. Support your thoughts with examples from your own professional experience. You may also describe professional experiences you expect to have in the future.
How is Relational Cultural Theory important to your practice with a client of a culture other than your own?
PART 2
“A definition of …cultural humility places emphasis on a particular orientation toward others (or “ways of being”), rather than mastery of a set of competencies (or “ways of doing”) in working with others.”
(Hook et al., 2013; Sue & Sue, 2016; Walters et al, 2016 as cited in Abe, J, 2020).
Discuss what being culturally humble or cultural humility means to you.
How will you demonstrate cultural humility in your social work practice?
PART 3
Read the Gregory & Clary article “Addressing Anti-Black Racism: The Roles of Social Work”. Reflect on the significance of the information for your professional self. How have your thoughts changed regarding structural racism? More specifically, how have your views changed on the role social work plays in addressing structural racism?
There is no length requirement for your submission to this journal; however, your reflection must demonstrate comprehension of main concepts and how they apply to your social work practice.

Clients face challenges when attempting to resolve difficulties that prevent them from living successfully. In part, these challenges are embedded into the social network of resources and systems. To prepare for this discussion, make sure to read the week’s required journal articles.
Discuss your perspective on oppression and the barriers social workers encounter while assisting others. How will such barriers influence your practice?
Identify at least one ethical dilemma discussed in the readings. How would you address that dilemma?
Include any experiences you have had working with clients experiencing systemic oppression.

Let’s talk about social dance experience! What is your social dance experience

Let’s talk about social dance experience!
What is your social dance experience today? We have been in this quarantine situation for quite some time.
We used to go out whenever you want and dance as you like. Gather together with friends and family was our norm… But things are different now.
So, let’s talk about it. How you converted your social dance activities today? Or, if you are like me, done with the club-going a long time ago? Then what was your experience when you were active with social dances? Perhaps you never have done any of social dances? Then why? Please share your personal experiences.
And let’s talk about what will be like our suture social dance activities going to be?
Please post your initial post in a short answer format. (Submit with the number of the question and your statement. Do not include the text of the questions. No number will cause you a point deduction!)
Please include the followings (Do not post the questions in your post, just the number! Point will be deducted).
1) What were the occasions and what dances did you participate in? If you never participated in social dance, please state, and why?
2) What do you think of today’s social dance trends and what do those dances reflect about our society? How you have been doing with your social dance activities in this environment? Gave up? Zoom? Do something else?
3) What do/did you like/hate about social dance experiences? ( If you’ve never done any social dance, what prevented you from participating? )
4) What is the social dance scene going to be like after the pandemic?
