Title Page
Your title page should contain a running head, title, author name, and school affiliation. The purpose of your title page is to let the reader quickly know what your paper is about and who it was written by.
Abstract
An abstract is a brief summary of your paper that immediately follows your title page. According to this format your abstract should be no more than 150 to 250 words although this can vary depending upon the specific publication or instructor requirements.
The Main Body
For something like an essay, the main body of your paper will include the actual essay itself. Your body can be broken down to several sections separated by spaces. The body should be at least 750 words minimum.
References
The reference section of your paper will include a list of all of the sources that you used in your paper. If you cited any piece of information anywhere in your paper, it needs to be properly referenced in this section. One handy rule of thumb to remember is that any source cited in your paper needs to be included in your reference section, and any source listed in your reference section must also be mentioned somewhere in your paper.
Describe the 5 step hazard mitigation process for the ISO. Do not repeat word for word what is in the textbook. Put the context in your department and provide an example of this process on a working incident. See rubric for grading

Write a research paper that fully addresses both of the following topics:
Describe your own definition for international terrorism, and then summarize the four waves of modern terrorism and defend your position if you think we are experiencing a fifth wave.
Propose a plan to build and sustain international cooperation on counter-terrorism. You can consider doing this from the perspective of the United States (a lead nation), or use an intergovernmental alliance approach like using the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (see NATO Working with partners to counter terrorism), or propose a global international method. Make sure to address the full spectrum of counter terrorism tools such as diplomatic, military, intelligence, economic, informational, financial and law enforcement. Describe how you will create and build the cooperation as well as the pros and cons of your chosen approach.
Technical Requirements
Your paper must be at a minimum of 5-6 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit).
Scholarly and credible references should be used. A good rule of thumb is at least 2 scholarly sources per page of content; however, a minimum of eight (8) scholarly sources are required to support your paper.
Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.
Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.
Points will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic type sources. It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals, articles, archived documents, etc.

Brief Leadership Speech—Skills and Behavioral Approach
Part 1:
The purpose of this assignment is for you to think critically about both the skills approach and the behavioral approach of leadership by preparing your initial (brief) speech for the first meeting on the first day after a disastrous event. Your audience for this speech includes those who will report to you (subordinates). Select ONE of the following options for this assignment:
Write the speech in a Word document, or
present the speech, and capture it via video.
The content of the speech needs to succinctly answer the following question:
What would you say to your team on the first day to communicate your expectations toward structure, productivity, and the concern for people?
Structure, productivity, and the concern for people are key aspects of the behavioral approach of leadership. To keep it simple, the length of the speech must be at least 250 words and no more than 300 words. When spoken, this is approximately two minutes and no more than three minutes. A lot can be stated in that amount of time, so keep it concise and on point.
If you choose the video option (and hopefully you will, as it can be a great way to demonstrate your ability to potential employers), access a guide with some helpful tips for capturing the video and uploading it to YouTube.
Part 2:
The second part of this project involves completing a self-evaluation form about your speech. It requires very little time, but you should carefully consider the guidance it offers toward a quality message. Complete the form, save it, and submit it in Blackboard for grading.
This assignment involves submitting more than one file to one assignment. Access a guide that demonstrates how to submit more than one file to one assignment.
