Post: For your initial post, address parts 1 and 2 in a total of 200 words.
Part 1: In 100 words describe some of the challenges you had in writing the “Here they Stand” essay. Why do you think that it is difficult to make an argument that is different from your own point of view? What barriers did you have to overcome to write this essay? Did you have to make claims that you feel dishonest, or unethical, or even shame? Did you discover that it was easy for you to make an opposing argument?
Part 2: In 100 words describe how the “Here They Stand” essay affected your view of your own position. Did you change your mind about anything? Did you find that you believed your position even more than before Week 5? Did you discover new data to support your own position, or did you find sources that required you to look more closely at your own position?
